Scotland has made great improvements on waste in the last few years by increasing recycling rates and reducing the amount of waste we send to landfill. In the north-east, we currently send around two thirds of our household waste to landfill.
We are working to deliver an ambitious project to fulfil the requirements of the Scottish Government's Zero Waste Plan. Aberdeen Recycling and Energy aims to provide a long term solution for non-recyclable waste produced in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. This website tells you more about the facility we plan to develop.
